In Fall of 2014, three states agreed to partner on a grant application to the EPA’s Environmental Information Exchange Network (EIEN) or Exchange Network (EN), for short to fund the completion of the WaDE Project infrastructure deployment within their local environments. In August of 2015, the grant was awarded and the partners received approval to begin working on the project. This webpage is a central location for FY2015 EN Grant recipients to access and share information concerning their progress on the grant activities.

Meeting Summary: The grant partners talked about transitioning from Sara to Adel as the WaDE Program Manager and how to transition to the WaDE 2.0 system, once it is finalized. They reviewed their outstanding budget and items required to closeout the grant successfully in the fall. Lastly, the group discussed the upcoming WIMS conference hosted by WSWC and USGS in September.

Sara presented on the Western States’ Use of Cloud Computing Technology survey and results. Meeting Summary: Partners were updated on the billing status of their Q1/Q2 2017 reimbursement requests. The partners discussed the use of cloud technologies. Sara presented an example of how to access WaDE’s API to display data for the state of California. That visualization is available here. California participants talked about recent advances with establishing their Open Water Information Architecture as a preliminary step to implementing AB1755 – California’s new Open and Transparent Water Data law. The group talked about what datasets to add to WaDE. Sara presented the preliminary results from the States’ Use of Cloud Computing Survey and also talked about attendance at the upcoming Water Information Management System (WIMS) workshop to be held in Jan. 2018.
